Description
The traditional Andhra sweet snack known as Teepi Gavvalu, also known as Bellam Gavvalu, is prepared from wheat and jaggery. This dessert bears a striking resemblance to Goan Kalkal and Keralan Kulkus. If you start nibbling on these sweet treats, you won’t be able to stop at one since the flavor is so addictive. They are crispy, crunchy, and faintly sweet. They are cooked with a pastry that is crisp but soft and flaky, made with maida, and dunked into a syrup composed of either sugar or jaggery after being deep-fried in oil. These delicious snacks in the form of tiny bite-sized shells are often prepared for Diwali.
